Emergency Care

When you have an urgent health issue or feel unwell outside normal hours, you can go to an Emergency Department, After Hours clinic, or Urgent Care clinic.

WARNING

For serious emergencies, such as life-threatening situations or severe injuries, call 111 for an ambulance.

When to Seek Emergency Care

  • Life-threatening situations, severe injuries, sudden severe symptoms, and similar situations
  • If you are unsure, call Healthline: 0800 611 116 (free 24-hour health advice)

How to Contribute Other Providers

If you have experience visiting another hospital or clinic, contributions are welcome:

  1. Create provider-english-name/index.md under docs/medical-care/emergency/, such as auckland-hospital/index.md
  2. Follow the structure of White Cross: provider overview, address/hours, visit process, fees and reimbursement, and notes
  3. Add the corresponding link under "Emergency Care" in the sidebar in docs/.vitepress/config.mts
  4. Submit a Pull Request
